Tennis Fun Day is a city-wide tennis outreach and community service project organized by a group of junior tennis players (and their parents). The junior tennis player volunteers will teach young kids interested in tennis the fundamentals and fun drills of tennis at the Highland Park Tennis Courts on Stanton Avenue on Saturday September 14 from 10:00 am – 1:00 pm, with a rain date Sunday September 15.  The goal is to promote an interest in and grow the sport of tennis, and to encourage young kids to be more physically active and healthier.

Our junior tennis player volunteers have collected nearly a hundred donated tennis racquets, which they will give away to the participants during the program.  Gamma has generously donated string and overgrips, and the donated racquets have been restrung by volunteers at the Mt. Lebanon Tennis Center.  There will be free snacks and refreshments.

We are pleased to report that we have sponsorship by the USTA – AMD Council for this event.

We also have partnered with the following, local organizations in this initiative:
Gamma
Citiparks Tennis
Highland Park Tennis Club
Mt. Lebanon Tennis Center
Peters Township Tennis Center
Upper St. Clair Tennis Development Program

If you have unused or unwanted racquets, please look for a donation box at the above facilities or contact me. lf you are a junior tennis player, we need a certain number of volunteers! Please contact me at lynn@NetandClay.com to sign up. If you can donate water, Gatorade and snacks, please contact me. Please spread the word on social media!
